Remote Voltage Selector
for Iota DLS Battery Charger/Converters
The manual VS-2 VOLTSELECT switch is designed for manual control of the output voltage of the DLS series converter/chargers. When in the HIGH position, the DLS charger will deliver 14.vdc at light loads and 14.0vdc at full load. When in the LOW position, The DLS charger will deliver 13.6vdc at light loads and 13.4vdc at full load. After charging on the HIGH position, be sure to switch back to LOW to reduce overcharging and battery water loss.
The LOW 13.6 volt float voltage is designed for long term charging. 13.6vdc is below the gassing point of most 12 volt lead acid batteries. This will keep battery water loss at a minimum. 13.6vdc is also the preferred voltage for longer life of fan motors, pumps, and lights.
The HIGH 14.2 volt setting is designed for customers who want to quickly and completely re-charge their battery or batteries. This can be used just before taking a trip (to "top off" the batteries), or used when running the generator to reduce generator run time. Be sure and switch back to LOW after charging to reduce overcharging and battery water loss.
6" leads are included with the VS-2. Attach additional wiring to remote mount the switch in a convenient location. Attach the Voltselect wires to the left and right screws on the terminal block located between the DC output lugs and the shoreline cord. It makes no difference which wire is hooked up to which terminal. Click thumbnail image below for connections.
NOTE: Voltage values referenced above are for 12VDC controller. 24V values are approximately double these values.
