Automatic Transfer Switch
100A, 150A, 200A, 400A, 120/240V, 1-phase
generator exerciser, load management circuits
Overview
Eaton's GREEN Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), when used in conjunction with a standby generator, guarantee reliable, seamless power when outages occur. They automatically transfer the load to the generator when utility power fails, providing the highest protection for continuous power. Eatons GREEN ATS provides a unique and truly active load management system which intelligently manages loads. By using this technology, consumers can maximize the output of the generator, reduce upfront costs, reduce fuel consumption, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions; a truly environmentally-friendly transfer switch.

Additional Information
The GREEN ATS features a new RTC-100 controller, in compliance with the 2008 NEC 702.5 code, Part B, which states: "Load Management: Where a system is employed that will automatically manage the connected load, the standby source shall have a capacity sufficient to supply the maximum load that will be connected by the load management system." The RTC-100 constantly monitors and manages up to (2) large loads (such as air conditioner units), preventing the generator from being overloaded. By complying with this requirement, the RTC-100 controller allows the homeowner to safely maximize the capacity of their generator, and avoid excessive expenditure on a larger generator that would have otherwise been sized to the full connected load.
Contactor Boxes (for loads over 5 amps):
These contactor boxes are used in conjunction with the load management control when in-line relays are required to start/stop appliances larger than 5 amps. Use a contactor with coil rated for the external supply voltage of 12V to 120V ac or dc. For additional details about contactor relay go to this page.

NOTES:
1) The start time delay prevents nuisance generator starts during momentary utility power variations; transfer time delay allows generator set to stabilize before load is applied; retransfer delay prevents needless power interruption if return of utility power is momentary; stop delay allows gradual generator set cool down; undervoltage sensing of utility supply provides reliable starting of generator set during brownout conditions.
2) If this switch is purchased with the built-in service entrance disconnect this generally means that you do not need another service entrance rated disconnect between this switch and your utility meter.
