Wind Turbine Generators

Click here for US DOE wind maps.
The World Power wind generators are shown as Configuration E5.
The Southwest Windpower generators can be used in Configuration E4.
Remember to check if your state offers rebates for
wind power installations that can offset a substantial portion of the purchase price.
Also consider the net metering laws for your state to see how any excess generation
is billed.  Useful conversions: 1 knot = 1.15 mph, 1 m/sec = 2.237 mph.

NOTE: ¢/kWH based on purchase cost of turbine spread over 10 years of kWH generated at a DOE Class 3 site (12 mph average wind speed).  Figures do not include costs of tower, balance of system components, installation or maintenance except where indicated.   Credits for state and federal incentives not included.  Performance will vary depending on actual winds available, tower height and any out of service time.  Formula: ¢/hWH = 0.83 x $price ÷ kWH per month
